As well as the biggest price cuts and cheapest offers, we’re also highlighting discounts on TechRadar’s favourite and highest-rated products that have been tested and approved by our expert reviewers.

Expect bargains on big-screen smart TVs, huge savings on appliances, excellent value-for-money laptops, discounted mattresses and a whole host of cheap tech for around the home. Let’s get to it.

What’s been happening so far?

It may only be the early hours of the holiday, but many Presidents’ Day sales have been live at a number of retailers over the last couple of weeks.

If you’re up with us right now and are already looking to shop, here are our picks for the five best President’s Day sales so far:

Best Buy view the full sale

The Best Buy Presidents’ Day sale is now fully underway. Whether you’re shopping for appliances, TVs, laptops, video games, headphones or other tech, there are some big savings available right now at the mega-retailer. The main highlight, though, is the appliance sale – where you can save up to $2,000 on LG, Samsung, GE Profile, Whirlpool and more.

Samsung view the full sale

Fresh off the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S23 range, the manufacturer has big offers on the new handsets, with savings of up to $1,000 available when you trade in an eligible phone. Next to that, there are big price cuts on some top TVs, including the Samsung S95B OLED – one of the best TVs you can buy right now. And let’s not forget appliances, too, where there are discounts of up to $1,200 on washers, dryers, refrigerators and more.

Dell view the full sale

Dell makes some of the best laptops you can buy, so you should definitely take the chance to save on its most popular Inspiron and XPS ranges for Presidents’ Day. For the budget conscious, there are solid entry-level and mid-range machines that will comfortably handle your day-to-day computing needs. For those that need a bit more power, don’t miss the high-performance and well-designed XPS 13 for $999.99. And for the gamers, you’ve got pre-built machines and ultra-responsive gaming monitors reduced, too.

Home Depotview the full sale

The Presidents’ Day sales tend to focus on home items, so it makes sense that Home Depot goes big for this yearly holiday sale. The retailer has up to 25% off major appliances, which includes refrigerators, washers and dryers, and dishwashers from brands like LG, Whirlpool, and GE. Other offers include $100 off select tools, 25% off small appliances, and patio furniture deals starting at just $399.99.

Lowe’s view the full sale

Another home-focused retailer is Lowe’s – and its Presidents’ Day sales started with early bird promotions on a selection of appliances, tools, and home goods. Flat discounts of up to $750 are on offer, but there’s the opportunity to get extra savings on top when you bundle products from the same brand. A good choice if you’re after a few items to refit the kitchen.

An unmissable MacBook Air deal

Apple laptops are pricey, sure. But their high performance and impressive longevity means they can also be excellent value for money if you buy them at the right price. Well, now’s the time to plump for the MacBook Air M1 – as it’s back down to its lowest-ever price for Presidents’ Day.

Right now, you can now get the MacBook Air M1 at Best Buy for $799. That’s a $200 saving off the regular price and it matches the record-low we saw last year during Black Friday.

It’s a terrific deal for a premium machine that sits high on our best laptop list due to the sheer performance of the M1 chip that powers it. As our MacBook Air (M1, 2020) review makes clear, the M1 chip gives the device fast load times, incredible responsiveness, and the ability to handle intensive tasks such as 4K photo and video editing with ease. That’s on top of the slick design and solid battery life of around 11 hours.

The top 5 TV deals to shop now

The Presidents’ Day sales event is an excellent opportunity to grab a cheap TV, so we’ve picked out five of the best offers available right now. Whether you’re after a high-end OLED display or the biggest screen you can buy on a budget, we’ve got an option for you here, with prices starting at just $89.99 from retailers like Best Buy, Walmart, Samsung, and Amazon.

Missed out on a Samsung Galaxy S23 pre-order? Never fear

The latest range of Samsung Galaxy S23 handsets has now officially launched and there are still big opportunities to save on all three devices.

If you head direct to the manufacturer you can save up to $1,000 on the Samsung Galaxy S23 range when you trade in an eligible phone. Plus, you get up to $100 in store credit. The extra credit is a nice little bonus you can put towards some Galaxy Buds, a Galaxy Watch, or other accessories to go with your new phone.

In our Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra review, we described it as one of the best phones in the world. It’s a step up from the previous version, with a tougher build, faster memory and storage, a more efficient battery, a custom-tuned Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and a new 200MP main camera hidden behind a familiar design.

Apple’s best earbuds for a record-low price

The Presidents’ Day sales event is an excellent opportunity to grab a bargain on lots of our favorite tech – and we’ve just spotted a deal at Amazon on some of the best wireless earbuds that are not to be missed.

The retail giant has Apple’s best-selling AirPods Pro 2 on sale for $199.99. That’s a $50 discount and a return to the record-low Black Friday price.

Released in October of last year, the new and improved AirPods Pro 2 deliver enhanced noise cancellation and overall sound quality thanks to Apple’s new and improved H2 chip. The sweat-resistant earbuds also include an extended battery life and a redesigned case that provides up to 30 hours of total listening time.

Now’s the time to buy new appliances

Appliances are always blessed with some of the largest reductions in the Presidents’ Day sale – and this year is no different. We’ve seen reductions of up to 30% off top brands at Best Buy and Home Depot, while there’s up to $1,200 off at Samsung across the Bespoke refrigerator range.

It’s a good day to upgrade your bed

Presidents’ Day is pretty much the second-best time of year to buy a new mattress (after Black Friday/Cyber Monday), and if you need a new bed but you can’t wait until November, now’s the time to get the best prices.

The mattress business does have a bit of a tendency to run sales all year long (pro tip: never ever pay MSRP for a new bed), and quite a few of the mattress deals today seem quite close the prices we see every other day of the year. But, there are some definite bargains in there too. We’re tracking the deals in our Presidents’ Day mattress sales guide, but if you’re in a hurry we’ve also picked out three of the best options for you:

The one laptop deal I’d buy? The Dell XPS 13

There’s one laptop deal that’s caught my eye above the rest in today’s Presidents’ Day sales. If you’re shopping for a brand new device today, then don’t ignore this powerful and well-built Dell XPS 13 that’s now $999.

This light and portable workstation is capable of tackling all your everyday computing tasks. It boasts a fast and modern Intel i7 processor, a healthy 16GB of RAM to boost performance and a large 512GB SSD for ample storage space. That’s all wrapped up in the slim and portable XPS design, with a bright and high-definition 13.4-inch display.

In our Dell XPS 13 review, we found the latest version of the long-running laptop was once again an ideal pick for most users – whether that’s general everyday use or more productivity-focused tasks. It’s claimed a spot yet again on our best laptops list, so don’t miss it while it’s available at a great price.

10 Presidents’ Day deals at Amazon that are actually worth buying

Amazon isn’t officially running a sale for Presidents’ Day, but that hasn’t stopped the retailer from running a vast selection of daily deals over the holiday. With so much on offer, though, it can be hard to find the real gems within the muck.

Luckily, TechRadar deals editor Alex Whitelock is on hand to pick out the best of the best. He’s put together a wider roundup featuring 19 of the top deals if you want to give that a look. However, I’ve highlighted just ten of them here to give you a taster.

For a limited-time-only, you can score the stunning Samsung S95B OLED TV for just $1,699 (was $2,199) over in today’s Presidents’ Day sales at Samsung. This particular $500 discount is for the smallest 55-inch variant, but you’ll also find an even bigger $900 saving on the 65-inch model, which is currently going for $1,899 (was $2,999)
