Can Generative AI Help Secure the Supply Chain?

Supply chain attacks, such as the MOVEit data breach that has affected more than 150 organizations, are “the nature of the landscape now,” said security leader Ian Hill of Upp Corp. The answer to this scourge may be using generative AI to qualify partners and to analyze and score supply chain risk, he said.

“I can see potentially the opportunity for AI to do some of the due diligence on the supply chain,” Hill said. “I could see the use for AI to interrogate, use its capability to analyze, and then risk-score or, better, give a better risk analysis of the supply chain.”

Prior to joining Upp, he founded Drakken Ltd., a specialist web application ISP responsible for designing and implementing highly secure hosting environments and applications for Nokia Mobile Phones. He also developed the first commercially successful web-based vehicle tracking system for ACIS – now VIX.
